The Psalms
Do you ever wonder if the Lord can really speak directly to you? Daily he does that for me through his Word. So this page comes with a prayer that the Lord will use these verses and psalm settings to speak to you. The Lord is faithful.

Psalm 42
This rhododendron bloom is from our front yard. My husband had wanted a rhode for 16 years of our marriage and out of the several I had bought for him, nothing ever grew and bloomed. Obviously I couldn't grow them! Then...just as our world was turned completely upside down, after waiting on this particular plant for two years, I walked outside after reading the words from Psalm 42. Do you see how good the Lord is? This bloom seemed to suddenly radiate the love of the Lord for us right there. He was shining through the darkness that had been, and clearly He had every ability to take care of the current life situation.
We may sit dormant without strength to love or praise Him, but wait for Him. Why are you downcast, O Soul? You will yet praise Him, your Savior and your God. The Lord is faithful.
Psalm 54
I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, Lord,
for it is good.
Send forth your love O Lord!
In your faithfulness, do not delay.
Psalm 59
The psalms are real conversations with the Living God through the realities of life here on earth. Through all things He listens, is with us and is our one true refuge. He goes before us and holds us by our right hand.
The Lord works wonders for those He loves. He alone is mighty to save and defend the cause of those without help. Turn to Him all nations; Take refuge in His precious Name, O people. Arise, O Lord and bring forth Your justice and mercy for all the oppressed.
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:10
"For better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere!" Ps. 84
Though our heart and flesh may fail, You, O Lord are the strength of our heart and our portion forever! We will tell of all Your marvelous deeds, and afterwards You will take us to glory! Ps. 73
We look to You, O Lord, as our only True Judge and our Faithful Defender. Bring forth Your righteousness, mercy and justice through Your might and power. We pause and look to You our Savior.
Psalm 85
Dear Lord, help us to listen to you. It's something we don't easily do, unless we become desperate. Thank you for your mercies and forgiveness of our unfaithfulness. You will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Keep us from folly, we pray. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
A Prayer of David Psalm 86

1 Hear me, Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; 3 have mercy on me, Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust in you.
5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you.
6 Hear my prayer, Lord;
listen to my cry for mercy.
7 When I am in distress, I call to you,
because you answer me.
8 Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.
9 All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name.
10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.
11 Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
13 For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.
14 Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me—they have no regard for you.
15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
16 Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; save me, because I serve you just as my mother did.
17 Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

"May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children. May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands." Psalm 90:16-17
Psalm 91
What gentle comfort and assurance is given to us in this psalm. The Lord tells us - we who acknowledge His name - that He loves us and will rescue us. Dear friend, he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. I've seen this. I know this. He's faithful and a gracious Father who lovingly tends to us. Rest in Him, your shelter from the storm.
Lord Yah, there’s such a blessing that comes when you teach us your word and your ways.
Ps. 94:12 TPT
"Sing to the Lord; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!"
Psalm 96
Psalm 97 leaves no question for us that the Lord's righteousness and justice are the foundations of his throne. Though we may struggle to see righteousness and justice today, may his truths and promises shine through the darkness for His people. We rejoice in the Lord and praise his name.
Psalm 98
1 Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy;
9 let them sing before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples with equity.
So everyone, exalt the Lord our God
facedown before his glory-throne, for he is great and holy.
6 God has his praying priests,
like Moses, Aaron, and Samuel, who all interceded,
asking God for help.
God heard their cries and came to their rescue.
7 He spoke to them from the pillar of clouds
and they followed his instructions,
doing everything he told them.
8 God, the great forgiver, answered their prayers.
Yet he would punish them when they went astray.
9 Keep exalting the Lord our God
facedown before his glory-throne, for he is great and holy! Psalm 99
He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases; he redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him, for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. From everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children.
Bless the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, bless his holy name.
~ Psalm 103 ~
"All creatures look to You, O Lord, to give them their food at the proper time!" Psalm 104
"Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wonderful acts!"
Psalm 105
Worship - what the Lord desires from His delivered people!
We overflow with praise, O Lord, for all your mighty works in our lives!
My heart, O God, is quiet and confident, all because of you. Lord, have you really rejected us, refusing to fight our battles? Give us a Father’s help when we face our enemies. For to trust in any man is an empty hope. With God’s help we will prevail with might and power. And with God’s help we’ll trample down our every foe! Psalm 108
Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty
~ Revelation 15 ~
The Lord IS so good! He does bring water gushing forth out in springs of living water! He is our river of life who quenches our thirst-Hallelujah! ~ Psalm 114
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.
Psalm 116:1
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
2 Let Israel say:
“His love endures forever.”
3 Let the house of Aaron say:
“His love endures forever.”
4 Let those who fear the Lord say:
“His love endures forever.”
5 When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
he brought me into a spacious place.
6 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
7 The Lord is with me; he is my helper.
I look in triumph on my enemies.
8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in humans.
9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in princes.
"Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path."
Psalm 119:105
Psalm 121
A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Yes, Lord, "you keep those in perfect peace whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you!" Isaiah 26:3
This is a true testimony not only of the psalmist, but mine as well. The Lord is so good! He knows that we are dust and He works all things out for us out of His eternal love.
Hallelujah!
It’s time to sing and shout for joy!
Go ahead, all you redeemed ones, do it!
Praise him with all you have,
for praise looks lovely on the lips of God’s lovers.
2 Play the guitar as you lift your praises loaded with thanksgiving.
Sing and make joyous music with all you’ve got inside.
3 Compose new melodies that release new praises to the Lord.
Play his praises on instruments
with the anointing and skill he gives you.
Sing and shout with passion; make a spectacular sound of joy—
4 For God’s Word is something to sing about!
He is true to his promises, his Word can be trusted,
and everything he does is reliable and right.
5 The Lord loves seeing justice on the earth.
Anywhere and everywhere you can find his faithful, unfailing love!
6 All he had to do was speak by his Spirit-wind command,
and God created the heavenlies. Human strength and the weapons of man
are false hopes for victory;
they may seem mighty but they will always disappoint.
18 The eyes of the Lord are upon
even the weakest worshipers who love him—
those who wait in hope and expectation
for the strong, steady love of God.
19 God will deliver them from death,
even the certain death of famine, with no one to help.
20 The Lord alone is our radiant hope
and we trust in him with all our hearts.
His wrap-around presence will strengthen us.
21 As we trust, we rejoice with an uncontained joy
flowing from Yahweh!
22 Let your love and steadfast kindness overshadow us
continually, for we trust and we wait upon you! ~ Psalm 33 TPT
