Five Steps Toward Renewing True Worship.
With Holy Spirit's help, together let's faithfully
1) Respond to the Father
2) Surrender at the Cross
3) Walk in the Spirit
4) Abide in His Word and Truth
5) Love and Carry His Holy Presence!
Overall, I believe as we take these steps toward becoming true worshipers, the American Church has an opportunity to reorient itself back to
1) Worship as the Chief End of the Church;
2) Love as the Building Block of Our Christian Communities;
3) The Defeat of our Common Enemy the Devil;
4) Increased Faith, Trust and Obedience of the Lord;
5) Restored Integrity of our Witness for the Lord!
As we fulfill our calling to be true worshipers in greater measure, God's Spirit often allows a River of Life and Healing to flow from the Throne Room of God. His glory increasingly covers the earth. His reign is made manifest here on earth as it is in heaven!
God's people find joy in coming into the Father's presence together.
They begin to sing one another's songs with thanksgiving in their hearts, reflecting our magnificent Lord through richer, deeper, broader expressions of worship.
A Forever Family of Faith begins to appear with several generations, races and cultures worshiping the Lord together.
Chains and bondages are broken and people and church communities are healed.
The glory of the Lord begins to shine and Holy Spirit draws men, women and children to Himself.
Knowing and fulfilling our calling allows the Waters of Life to flow as Jesus opens the Floodgates of Heaven.
Suddenly, our committee room discussions turn from wringing our hands in worry over attendance numbers to celebrating the manifest glorious riches of God.
But I believe all the true blessings of Christ begin with praying on our knees, worshiping Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Jesus tells us "A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
Let's bless our God and obediently take steps to becoming true worshipers of the Lord, not just personally but also corporately together as His Bride. Jesus Himself is leading us to the Threshold of Glory! Hallelujah!

1. Respond to the Father's
Grace & Glory!
We come at Your invitation, O Lord! You have called us by Your Grace into Your Holy Presence! Hallelujah!

"Sing to the Lord; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!"

“Forgive all our sins, O Lord, and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips!" ~ Hosea 14:2
““No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and man!" Matthew 6:24
Give glory to the Lord your God before He brings the darkness, before your feet stumble on the darkening hills. You hope for light, but he will turn it to utter darkness and change it to deep gloom. What might this Love and laying down of our lives for each other
look like in the American Church?



Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity! ~ Colossians 3:12-14

Sadly, worship wars happen all too often in our churches...out in the fields hidden from other people's sight. Lord, forgive your people for killing others. After Adam and Eve sinned and took their eyes off you, their kids killed one another as one didn't want to whole-heartedly follow you. Sin is so alive and well in us. Lead us in your ways, O God! We have often hurt your own people for our own wants and desires in our churches. We have not loved You or our brothers and sisters. We confess our sins to you. Help us go to our brothers and sisters for forgivenss.
Do we grasp what happened in the temple when God's people came together in Christ,
all fulfilling their callings with one voice?
God's glory came down!
He inhabited the praises of His people and the temple was filled with the cloud of His presence!
Hallelujah! O Lord, you're instructing us! Open our eyes to the fullness of Your manifest glory!
He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases; he redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him, for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
From everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children.
Bless the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, bless his holy name.

God's kingdom celebrates both the youth and older saints within the family of God. As Children of God we are adopted into a Forever Family where each should thrive in their gifts and callings.
"Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them. Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh!"

"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity!" ~ I Timothy 4:12
"But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart!”

3. Walk in the Spirit!

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me!"

With Holy Spirit's help the Lord is seeking to transform us! When we don't walk in the Spirit, we must face our sin in the light of our Holy God. Repentance must be part of our lives as true worshipers. The truth of who God is does not allow sin to remain in our personal lives or corporate lives. Because of Jesus' shed blood which covers us, we are freed to live without condemnation. Are we a repenting people, before our Lord and one another? Do we know our Lord as a forgiving Father, both personally and corporately? Have we made repentance and forgiveness a regular part of our worship together?
"David was conscience-stricken after he had counted the fighting men, and he said to the Lord, 'I have sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, Lord, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing.” ~2 Samuel 24:10

"Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice! ~Psalm 51

Lessons from Nehemiah and Opposition to the Building of the Wall
*"But they were scheming to harm me; so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?
*We prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.
*Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water!" ~ Nehemiah 4-6

"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds!" 2 Corinthians 10:4

People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people!"

4. Abide In His
Word and Truth
"Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do!" ~ James 1:22-25

We need You and Your Word as our Bread of Life, O Lord! Give us faithful Ministers of Your Word each week! We desire Your truths proclaimed.
"Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." ~ Matthew 6:33-34
I sinned when I doubted. I was a brute beast before the Lord when I saw the prosperity of the wicked...Psalm 73

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31-32
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted!" ~ 2 Timothy 3:12

"Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the King, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up!”

Jeremiah 5:19 is an exact Scripture reference the Lord spoke to us one night in 2020 completely out of no where. We had never thought about this verse or passage before. As we were processing a situation that had been sudden and without cause, the Lord said to my husband, "Go read Jeremiah 5:19."
His clear voice and specific direction to look up this verse was a remarkable gift from Him. It still is! We couldn't have had a more gracious gift from Him than truth from His own Word about what had happened. Jeremiah 5:19 is congruent with what we saw happening in a church situation. But more importantly, I believe the Lord is trying to speak to us as an American Church in our day if we will have ears to hear.
Have we forsaken our first Love and been serving other gods? Have we allowed foreign gods into our priorities and congregations?
I believe He's trying to wake us up to return to Him alone!
"I hate, I despise your religious festivals; your assemblies are a stench to me. Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them. Away with the noise of your songs. I will not listen to the music of your harps.
But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!"
~ Amos 5:21-24
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight!" ~ Proverbs 3:5-6

I trust You, Lord. We trust You! Now strengthen the work our hands we pray for Your honor and glory! Bless us! ~ Nehemiah 6:9
5. Pursue & Carry His Presence!
"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?" ~ Psalm 42
As dearly loved Children, be holy as I am holy, says the Lord! ~ I Peter
"I hate, I despise your religious festivals; your assemblies are a stench to me. Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them. Away with the noise of your songs. I will not listen to the music of your harps.
But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!"

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke! Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty! Hallelujah!
The whole earth is full of His glory! ~ Isaiah 6
“What do you think would reveal to the world today the power, the presence and the glory of God? Well, how about the coming together of all those who name the name of Christ, in love, and unity, and mission? That might take a miracle, I hear someone say. Well—isn’t that, once more, what Jesus seems to have specialized in?” (Wright, 111)
So Everyone,
Exalt the Lord our God facedown before his glory-throne, for he is great and holy!

God has his praying priests,
like Moses, Aaron, and Samuel, who all interceded, asking God for help.
God heard their cries and came to their rescue. He spoke to them from the pillar of clouds and
they followed His instructions, doing everything He told them.
​
God, the great forgiver, answered their prayers.
Yet he would punish them when they went astray.
​
Keep exalting the Lord our God facedown before his glory-throne, for he is great and holy!

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him! ~ Colossians 3:17
Dressed in robes of righteousness and garments of praise, we come to our Lord, the Lamb of Glory, prepared for the Wedding Feast as His Bride.

Together with all who fear Him, both great and small, as a thunderous multitude we shout "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His Bride has made herself ready! " ~ Revelation 19
"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in Love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the Love of Christ, and to know this Love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God!" ~ Ephesians 3
